The SIN List consists of hazardous chemicals that are used in a wide variety products and manufacturing processes around the globe. The SIN abbreviation – Substitute It Now – implies that these chemicals should be removed as soon as possible as they pose a threat to human health and the environment. In order to clarify uncertainties and increase predictability, a number of steps have been introduced to the process of legally identifying Substances of Very High Concern (SVHCs). Unfortunately, in ChemSec's view, these steps have significantly slowed down the population of the Candidate List.
